THE TORONTO TITANS
HISTORY

Our Founders

The Toronto Titans was founded by sisters Rhonda Lewis and Marion Joseph.
In 1991, they noticed that there were no field hockey programs available for young children. Determined to introduce the sport to the next generation, Rhonda contacted Field Hockey Ontario to inquire about starting programs for younger players.
Together, Rhonda and Marion helped pioneer youth field hockey in Ontario and inspired generations of young athletes to pick up a stick and play the game they loved.
Our Story
1992

2002

2025

In early 1992, the Super Tykes Field Hockey Club was born with its first 8 players! The Super Tykes won their very first Gold Medal, less than 2 years from inception, in the Under 12 Division at the 1994 Maple Leaf Tournament in Toronto! The first Super Tyke was selected to the Junior National Team in 1999!
The evolution to Toronto Titans in 2002 marked our launch as the most successful club in Ontario. We are proud of our several achievements on an individual and team basis. In addition, several of our athletes who started at the grassroots level with the Club have progressed to represent Canada on its Junior and Senior national teams. The opportunity to represent Canada in both the Boys’ and Girls’ Divisions at the 2002 World Cup in Poland is an experience that will forever remain with the Titans players.
As Titans, our philosophy is to facilitate the development of athletes in an environment that fosters fun, camaraderie and learning not only of the sport but also life skills. The fact that we continue to soar to new heights is a tribute to the hard work, dedication and commitment of a team that BELIEVES – the key to our success!
